Good gods, is it just me or is the internet going down hill? Seriously, When did harassing people become funny? 'Cause it seems to be the trend lately on FDI, and it's pissing me off. I didn't like the kid, but there's no reason to do that shit. 'Satire' my ass. I swear, the instant I got off, the place went to hell. More threads and my own mod moving shit after I moved it to the garbage. It's not a spam forum either, but people seem to forget that, and god forbid I follow my own damn rules, else I become some sort of evil fun destroying force. Oh yea, see how our the human race reaches its peak on the internet.
Yep, I'm a little pissed. Congratulations to them, it takes a whole lot to do that nowadays.
I went so far to consider re-doing the rules and banning all those Involved or just strait out quiting. After getting myself to think logically, I simply put my foot down. I'm not going to put up with it anymore.Current Mood: Angry Current Music: Whitefall/Book ~ Greg Edmonson, Firfly Soundtrack

If having one war in my dreams wasn't enough, what about another?
Again, we have a complex, detailed setting. This time, I know the world's general geography. A single continent with a mountain chain down the middle with several large rivers dividing it up nicely. A nice variety of environments, as expected, exist on this world, with a trend towards moderately forested, moderately rough, temperate terrain. There are a lot of smaller rivers and streams that branch to any of the larger rivers, which, because of their hazardous size and strength, are difficult to pass in most areas without the help of a boat that can survive strong currents and not get swept down stream. The mountains are also equally hazardous in their own fashion.
There are several large nation on this world of varying political stances and differing levels of magical and technological prowess. I know one is a monarchy and yet another is a Technocracy.
So how did this particular war start? Well, apparently some dictator (possibly the previously mentioned Technocrats) want to take over the world, and they attempt to do this by reverting the rest of their world back in time (figuratively, not literally). They do this by doing their best to erase technologies and the professionals that perpetuate them. Either by recruiting them, capturing them, or eliminating them. Main targets include the technologies involved with ships and bridges, hoping to force a break down of communications across nations. Hell, I actually got a cut scene that explained it (It was being explained to us by our 'boss,' which I'll get to among other things later). Systematically and efficiently, they went across the nations with tanks and helicopters in their attempts.
Something tells me I come in earlier then this, but the major piece I remember, besides this, was stated above. Anyway, it starts out in some castle. There is a variety of people. There's one guy in plate armor with a big freaking battle hammer (looks a lot like a mallet =P). Yet another in robes, and a few of us (including me) with modern weapons and armor. We were actually discussing it and trying to work in tandem so to increase our chances of resisting this new threat. We were actually discussing how when said threat blows down a large section of one of the walls with the fire of several tanks. Which prompted the rest of use to battle/escape (for example, in the right hands, you'd be surprised how effective giant metal mallets are against tanks).
I myself hopped onto the gunner's seat of a buggy remarkably like the NOD scout buggy and we ditched down the road. This (unfortunately and fortunately) took us along the open plains area that the battle was being fought on, along a dirt road. To our left, a steep but small incline which I could see over from my gunnery spot. I fired at a number of enemies. To the right, a stream in a fairly deep 'ditch' (most descriptive word I can think of at the moment for it). There were a few trees to either side occasionally.
At one point while escaping, I jumped off to help someone. I remember failing at this and continuing forward on foot. Neither side was winning, for once, which was sorta good for us at the same time it was bad, because it was a change of pace for the better for most of us. I did eventually escape.
Damn I love having fun dreams. =PCurrent Music: Message for the Queen - Tyler Bates, '300' Soundtrack

| » The Dreamscape |
Recently, I came to an interesting conclusion. Specifically, about a certain set of dreams. I've been doing so in succession. Not the same dream repeatedly, but the same setting, but with continuation. What makes this much more interesting is that not only is it in succession, but it's quite vivid. Even more interesting is that I remember a lot of what I see. Events, people, objects, and the area it all takes place. The final piece is that not only do I remember everything, but these dreams last much longer then the normal lucid dreams last for people.
This isn't the first time I've had a set of dreams that acted as a series like this.
I'll go over the first one, since it used a setting that we're all familiar with. It's been years upon years, so I don't remember how old I was. I know I was danged well young enough to be a fan of Tail Spin at the time, because that was the setting It used. Basically, how it worked was that I was on vacation in Colorado at the time. One night I had a very vivid dream. So vivid, I remember specific details to this day. It came and went. I think there's at least 5 minutes of action in that first one, starting with me coming to consciousness flying a damned plane. Someone squawked at me over the radio. That's only there because it's important to the next series, though.
Anyway, the next one came about the next night, starting off where I had the previous night and actually having a definitive ending.
Now, to get off that and get onto the most recent one. This one is much more complicated then that, and I've had pieces in the last 6 months. 3 dreams stand out, though I have a feeling I've had 4 or maybe even more. I don't remember when the other two were, but I know I had them recently. The first had a continuing pattern. I came out of unconsciousness. This time in an infirmary. I'll now to use script style, and tell as much of the story as I can.
- - - - -Episode 1- - - - - [Infirmary] *I regain consciousness, blinking before looking up at a doctor hanging above me, probably checking on me. He's a bald, large black man, probably in his 40s. Strong wrinkles in his forehead.* Doctor: "You're Awake." (Could have been 'You're Conscious,' but I remember the statement was something along those lines) *writes something on a clip board.* {A conversation is held with the doctor, wondering where I am and such. I know I get some details about the place I am in, about a civil war against the current tyrant's grasp in this particular city. I also learned I was found and brought here, though I don't know why. Unfortunately, as said, it's been a few months since I had this dream so it's not all as clear as it was back then. I do still remember the infirmary clearly, though. it was a clean, white room with at least a dozen medical beds in it, a light above each. There was a bunch of counters with cupboards along the north and west walls. Each counter had its own sink. Above the counters was more cupboards, with glass fronts instead, filled with medical supplies. The door was on the east wall, leading out into a hall. This is part of a larger underground complex.
Anyway, I eventually end up in the cafeteria, which techs down for simple metal tables, concrete walls and hanging lights (Halls use the concrete and simple lights scheme, too), I get introduced to several others in the crew. Most of them are of Hispanic, African American, or Caribbean decent, and dress in what some consider gang like clothing. Now, don't think of them as such, as seriously speaking, they struck me as intelligent, capable people, who acted more like brothers and had a cause, aka rebelling against the tyrant that ruled their country.
The exits to this complex come out in the basements of several dilapidated multistory buildings (roughly 4-20 stories per building for all the buildings in the area). Several are reinforced and used as hidden garages. The outsides of the doors are designed to match the buildings so they are hard to spot. Actually, the whole area where most of us reside is in this deteriorating condition. One of the places that sticks out the most vividly for me is the end of a street. To the east is desert. Open desert. Pretty damned barren, too. There is a guard rail with yellow and black diagonal caution paint at the end of the road. One of our garages opens into a vacant lot south of the road.
Later on, we go out to fight. I'm given an assault rifle and go out with them on their next mission, as apparently, I'm already trained to use it. This is the first time I see my enemy. I'll lay this out, when I say 'police,' these people are more comparable to MPs or SWAT. Their form of 'police' is an extension of the military. They had at that corner two vehicles, a larger, unarmed troop transport, and a lighter, smaller and armed transport.
The larger one was probably comparable to a Mack truck with trailer in length, though it looked none-such in appearance. It was pretty much a rolling box, with a pivot point in the middle. With the exception of the cabin area, along its length it had gull-wing doors, each section large enough for a man to sit, and nearly tall enough to stand, though once the doors were open, one could stand. It was a wheeled vehicle. 12 tires in all, six on the front half, six on the back half, with the engine in the front half.
The smaller one was comparable in design to a modern day half track, with several changes. First off, the track was replaced with 4 wheels. Next up, there was no fabric used, but a full metal cover, with a light machine gun on top, near the front section of the carrier section and to the right. It could spin 360 degrees. People were let out by the hatch on back swinging up.
In this confrontation, I shot down 3 of the soldiers coming out of the larger one with the precision normally expected of Qesun himself before someone killed off the machine and several other soldiers with an RPG. After that we cleaned up, taking out the soldiers in the light vehicle and taking it for ourselves, returning to our base of operations with the light transport and any weapons we could find, hiding it in one of our garages. That would be the contents of the first dream alone. A lot for a dream huh?}
- - - - -Episode 2- - - - - {I don't remember much with this one. We had to defend against a raid this time. Something I missed in the descriptions before is that the opposing military wears. They tend to were black body armor with a variety of equipment. They also wear gas masks that double as night sight goggles. Not constantly, as I know the soldiers we killed in the previous episode lacked the masks.
Anyway, I was set up in a window about our previously mentioned garage where we hid the stolen vehicle. Boy did I fill a load of bastards full of lead. Actually, we had people set up everywhere, bullets pretty much falling on them like rain. At some point in this conflict, I know I actually went down stairs because my gun broke, jumped in the gunner's chair of the vehicle we had stolen earlier on, and we used it to help clear out our sector of the city. At some point, that broke down too. Luckily near home. It was parked outside.
~Somewhere in here, I feel I miss a dream, because there are things in the next dream that would suggest such, but I don't remember how they happened. For now, the next dream will be called 'Episode 4.'~
- - - - -Episode 4- - - - - [Garage] {The same one that was used in the previous two episodes.} *I am outside, just in front of the garage. We now have one of those large transports at this garage, on the west side of the lot. The broken down transport is still on the east side of the lot. I'm walking out for a reason I do not know when it all goes to hell.*
{Now, at about this point I should mention that the sun rises to the west and sets to the east on this world. It was morning. Probably around 8am, as the sun was pretty west of us. This suggests that the world this takes place on is not earth.}
*Anyway, we all hear a low hum, and many of us look of to the east. In the distance, we can see them. Planes. Hundreds of them. We all stand around wondering who they belong to, as last we checked, the government we were trying to overthrow didn't used prop planes (he used helicopters) and had no holdings that we knew of in that direction. As soon as they were upon the area, we soon learned that they were unfriendly, starting with the beginning of their attack and this shout...*
Rebel: "It's a new enemy!"
Me: "Shit" *Grabs heavy machine gun and runs out to a mound just past the end of the road, and set up.*
Another Rebel: "You nut, that gun is broke!"
Me: *Remembers that, and for that matter, remembers that happening in the previous dream, as well as the fact that it is a dream.* "Shit-fuck." *I get ready to use the broken transport, and remember that's broken, too. I see others loading into the stolen large transport with weapons. It closes up and drives off, heading into the city. The other working vehicles make the same escape as I make my own into the alley ways of the city*
{We make our way into the city a bit. At this point, I realize I forgot to grab another gun, the idiot I am. On the bright side, I'm intelligent and as previously mentioned, well trained in this world. I ambush some of our new enemies in the alley ways, us rebels using the gorilla tactics we've used for so long, and take one of their weapons. I do some more sneaking around. The dream ends with me shimeying down between two buildings to get behind another pair.}
{Now to get into this new enemy. They tend to be equipped more like America is right now, except with a less fancy assault rifle and less equipment on their backs. Nearly none but what they need to fight, actually. Their planes are WWII style, similar to Japanese designs. They're not as developed as the tyrant, but their willing to throw their weight. The gap in air capabilities is not big enough to give the tyrant any advantage. I have yet to see the tyrant's forces and these invaders fight, but I remember a report about it, not to mention the 'new enemy' statement clearly shows they aren't a friend of either of the factions previously involved.}
{To get further into the tyrant, he does things in a despotic communist way. Everything is for the greater good. Food and supplies are distributed by the government. Almost all jobs are controlled by the government, including the media. They tend to quit voices that oppose them. Their military is strong. Beyond that, I don't know much of him, or any more about the disposition of his forces.}
Now, that all said, I think it can be seen why I find these dreams are odd. The shear volume of data I remember and the amount of time spent that I would be dreaming lucidly are astounding from what I know has been said of dreaming by science. And the depth of it all is astounding as well.
If I'm lucky, maybe the next episode shall be soon. This new enemy, the succession of the dreams, their depth. It makes me want to know more.

Remember this? Well, I have a little update for ya'll.
Well would ya look at that! Payoff anyone? Needless to say, I guess enough hints from multiple students (in Ivan's words) rocked the boat a little too much. | » Oooh, here's a good one! |
Right, here's a smart bunch. ...Oh, wait. I'm sorry. They're not. They are expelling the kid for TURNING IN the pellet gun that the kid found. It would have probably been smarter to leave it and go tell the principle where you found it (Admittedly, if it was a real gun, I would have at least 'accidentally misplaced' or strait up taken the bullets in case the owner returned while I was talking to the principle. No one wants to be target practice if they can prevent it), but none the less he was trying to be a good kid.
But really, two years of expulsion for turning it in? What a truck full of bullshit this is!
You know what? Read the article. Decide for yourself. If you agree with me, the e-mail for the school is in the Digg comments about the article. E-mail them. And be smart about it. Explain, don't complain. Think of it like an argumentative essay from English class.

Snaged from Spring...
Dear Santa...
Dear Santa,
This year I've been busy!
Last Sunday I put gum in sprang's hair (-12 points). Last month I helped gramaton_cleric see the light (8 points). Last Monday I committed genocide... Sorry about that, linksprower (-5000 points). Last Saturday I broke deltastrata's X-Box (-12 points). In March on a flight to LA, I stole the emergency flight information card (-40 points).
Overall, I've been naughty (-5056 points). For Christmas I deserve a moldy sandwich!
Sincerely, Qesun |
...You know, if that genocide bit wasn't so damned awesome, I probably would have never posted this.

| » How many grade points is a $3 charity ticket worth? |
No, really? How many grade points is a $3 charity ticket worth in Biology 101? Ethically, speaking, it should be none. But that $3 ticket is worth 5 grade points. $6 dollars raises you a letter grade and $60 wins you the class, even if you've been sitting on your ass and doing abso-freaking-lutely nothing. Of course, there is about half a dozen ways to do that anyway in this class, but I'm gonna focus on this one for now. Here, I say it's unethical, and on my drive home, I was sooo damned sure I was going to send off an e-mail to the Dean of Biological Sciences when I got home. ...And then when I tell my parents, they offer to pay the $60. Which threw me for a loop. Here I am, thinking I'm on solid footing with my understanding of ethics, and I loose my footing. They understand it's unethical, too, and yet they offer the money, which really has me wondering... Should I even care? I mean, no one else in the class does, and it doesn't seem my parents do in the end. It's clear I can't play both sides of the game. That's so likely to bite me in the ass, the sharks are already circling the instant I think about it.
On ones side, I don't have to care about the class for the rest of the year. It's done and passed. Don't even have to take an end-of-the-semester exam. It can do nothing but boost my GPA, which I do so want to keep high. ...But if someone else says something, not only is my grade gone, but my $60 as well, not to mention the fact that if it was found out who was willing to fork over $60, they might find expulsion quickly due to their questionable ethics. Really, it depends on how far the school wants to take it.
On the other hand, I'd feel fucking horrible as hell for doing it. We're supposed to earn our fucking grades and acutally learn something on the way. How prepared are these people for biology 102? Hell, I know I have an unfair advantage of still having this shit memorized from high-school, but hell, even I could learn something if she'd actually teach (though I doubt she'd teach again if I ever said anything). Hell this is college. Aren't these degrees we earn via taking these courses worth something? ...Or do we want some biologist out there with an associates degree that doesn't actually know a gods damned thing about biology because she payed off the fucking teacher.
Yea, from the sounds of that, I'm still decided, despite any wavering.
This isn't the first peice of bull shit this teacher has dished out, either. We should be up somewhere in chapter 20. We're actually still on chapeters 4 and 5. Not only does she give people an easy out, but she can't teach worth a flip anyway. She gives free-be points out for everything and anything. There was this one play we did (Which I got cut out of for bullshit reasons) that had little to do with learning about biology that some people could probably pass off of since she could give anywhere from 0-100 extra points for. This class is a fucking mockery of what college should be like.
Yea, I'm probably going to talk to the dean. I don't think I'd be able to live with myself taking any other route.

Clearly, I haven't posted here in a while. Bad habit? Good fortune? God knows. Honestly, I don't know why I quit visiting the place. It was a great way to keep track of folks I used to chatter with often. I kinda miss the connection. Meh, whatever. Now I'm getting all sentimental and crap. :P
Right. Lets get a few things that happened recently down... Well, I could waste time chattering about how I spent the last three days finishing a research paper I should have been working on for weeks (Gods, and here I am trying to not be a stereotypical college student). I just hope I get a good grade on it despite my stupid. It's 60% of my damned Eng102 grade.
...And also, some prick knocked the driver's side window out of my car for NO FUCKING REASON. Yep. That's right. They didn't do it to steal anything. Everything inside was untouched and still there, and the door was unlocked. Amazing the stupidity that some human beings are capable of. Certainly, whoever pulled that stunt does not deserve to be clasified as 'sapien.' They're lucky I'm too damned nice in real life to vandalize thier face for it if I ever did catch up with them.
And so now it is done. I have posted.

...But it was too good an oppertunity to pass up. What is this oppertunity? I was playing Team Fortress Classic tonight, being an insane badass. But they just gave me something too good to be true. You see, it was a custom map, so there was a design error. Not a bug, just a normal map attribute that can be exploited. At the very front of the map, where the enemies come into the map, is a choke point. No my side of the choke point, is a resupply. I stood on the resupply and just proceeded to shoot. ...And shoot. And frankly, it was almost like having infinite ammo and life. I just stood there and shot them all repeatedly. Ended up with a score of 134 kills to 9 deaths. I only died 9 times and I killed 134 players. I know I'm awesome, but that's just a godlike score, and I couldn't have done it without doing what I did, and ya know what?

"I've had the old Qesun for a while. He's my classic character. I love him so."
"No, I'm not talking about the one trouncing around MG and MFZ sniping every poor fool he comes across. This Qesun was before the MG Qesun's time."
"The first one was a little on the opposite end. A bruiser. Lots of guns and swords. Had a mind for strategy but nothing else. ...The growing problem is that I'm a smart person, and growing more so with each and every thing that I study. Which makes it harder to play stupid. That, and I'm tired of being a bruiser, as I always feel like a godmoder compared to the others because I don't quite get injured as fast. Of course, this is mostely because no one has yet to use either my weakness to magic or psychics against me."
"The main thing is that I just can't play dumb anymore. There are things I know that could have aided at many a time, but couldn't have him say without him getting into knowledges and disciplines he just didn't know or didn't quite have the brown power for. Making him not so good at science and maths and such was my way of balancing him out, but it just doesn't work for me now. It's just not fun."
"So I'm thinking of changing him. Making him less a bruiser. Take away the super strength, the super speed, the hieghtened metabolism. (I'm keeping the damned added resistance. I like not being bashed to a pulp too quickly.) Instead, he will be more intelligent. Won't have his old weaknesses. Maybe jump on using some Gun Kata and keeping the guy well built and exercised."
"I'll see. I just have to think about it. Try it out a little even."

Ok, for the record, I finally watched Serenity. Now, the movie was awesome.
But Oh. My. God. The outakes are the funniest shit. And that's where I get baby jesus from. You see, in one outake, it's the point before they leave Haven after Haven has been destroyed. Malcoms giving orders to the others about how the prepare the ship to go through reaver space. He tells the first one to gather up some bodies and strap them to the front of the ship. Adn then he moves on to the second and somehow gets to sticks, baby jesus, and the ground. You know, I can't really be sure (except the part about baby jesus) considering I was laughing far too hard to completely understand it any of the three times we watched it trying to figure out what he said. I need to get that onto a computer one of these days, as it's not funny unless you can see it.
